Pre-Symposium Workshop - Wednesday, November 5, from 1 p.m. EST to 4 p.m. EST Public Health and Engagement with Indigenous Communities
This workshop is a follow-up to the highly successful Indigenous presentation at the 2025 June alPHa Conference. Participants will gain further insights into the importance of appropriate and inclusive Indigenous engagement with local public health efforts. The session will provide an opportunity for reflection on how public health agencies can foster meaningful relationships with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis (FNIM) communities and organizations. Prior attendance at the June is not necessary to participate in the November workshop. Poster Overview This workshop is included for and exclusive to all registrants for the Fall Symposium.

Pre-Symposium Workshop - Thursday, November 6, from 1 p.m. EST to 4 p.m. EST Leading Others: Understanding Communication Styles, Featuring Marilyn Owston, TrendLine Consulting Services If you are a public health leader, then this is the workshop for you! This highly interactive session has been specifically designed to enhance leaders' ability to communicate more effectively with their teams. In an effort to provide participants with the tools necessary to lead their teams more effectively, individuals will assess their own communication style and consider the impact differences in style have on decision making, problem-solving, change and other variables at work, especially as they relate to stress. Understanding the strengths and challenges each style brings to the team, emphasis will be placed on the ability of leaders to flex their own style in order to bring out the best in their team. Please note, the best way to pay for your registration for the 2025 alPHa Fall Symposium and Workshops is by credit card or Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT). The deadline to register is Friday, October 31. Cancellations up until October 31 are refundable via electronic fund transfer, less a $50 processing fee. No cancellations will be processed following the deadline. If it is not possible to pay by credit card or EFT, cheques may be sent to our mailing address. (If you have not already done so, this is also a good opportunity to update your mailing list):
