alPHa’s Workplace Health and Wellness Month is back! Get ready to get moving in May 2025!

Most of us spend the lion’s share of our waking hours in the workplace, even though the definition of workplace has become more fluid. Regardless of the setting (and perhaps because of the diversity of settings that now count as such), alPHa strongly agrees that Workplace Health and Wellness is essential to overall health, defined by the World Health Organization as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease” (WHO, 1986). Mental health, nutrition, and physical activity are three areas we have chosen to emphasize, but this is not meant to put limits on pathways to achieving health and wellness in the workplace.
On this page, alPHa will curate resources from public health units related to workplace health and wellness that we believe members will find useful. While not all of these are directly related to the idea of health in the workplace, they can easily be adapted to a way of thinking about the best way to take care of ourselves.
We invite members to make suggestions of further resources from public health units for inclusion here, by contacting info@alphaweb.org.
