Canada’s public health associations are hosting the inaugural “Canadian Public Health Week,” April 4-8, 2022. This is a time to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving our health and well-being.

This year, Canadian Public Health Week will feature a series of free webinars. One of these is a joint Ontario Public Health Association and Association of Local Public Health Association session that is taking place on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. For the alPHa portion of this webinar, Dr. Charles Gardner will draw from alPHa’s recent efforts including the 2022 Elections Primer, our Public Health Resilience in Ontario Clearing the Backlog, Resuming Routine Programs, and Maintaining an Effective Covid-19 Response Report and our updated “What is Public Health” brochure. Each of these documents is interlinked and, taken together, effectively illustrate who we are, what we do, and why it matters. You won’t want to miss this presentation!

Join OPHA and alPHa in a discussion about the findings of their recent reports on the impact of COVID-19 on public health programs and the health of Ontarians. OPHA & alPHa look forward to hosting an interactive session about Ontario’s experience and that of other jurisdictions and exploring what is needed to strengthen public health and promote optimal health for all.
