This is a selection of local resolutions on
current public health issues, organized by topic. They include recommendations made by boards of
health, health and social services committees and medical officers of health to
regional or city councils. Once adopted, many of these in turn form the basis of
advocacy initiatives to senior levels of government. Please note that these do
not necessarily reflect the Association of Local Public Health Agencies'
position on the subject, but are posted in the spirit of enhancing understanding
of local perspectives on public health matters. Also note that this is not a complete list, as alPHa is not always notified of local public health decisions.

29 April 2013 resolution of the Porcupine Board to endorse recommendations contained in a number of recent reports related to the built environment and active transportation.
October 28 resolution of the Sudbury Board of Health encouraging all municipalities within the Sudbury and Manitoulin districts to commit to and appropriately resource a transportation system vision that enhances equity and choice, and opportunities for safe, connected multi modal travel.

October 22, 2012 - The Middlesex-London Board of Health commendation for the Premier's announcement on September 14, 2012 to adopt a private members’ bill, Bill 74, “Skin Cancer Prevention Act, 2012” to prohibit the use of and access to tanning services by youth under 18 years of age to protect them from developing skin cancer.
October 3 2012 - The Board of Health for the Timiskaming Health Unit commendation of the Premier for his September announcement to support Bill 74, Skin Cancer Prevention Act, 2012 to prohibit selling or supplying tanning services or ultra-violet light treatment services to persons under the age of 18 in Ontario to protect them from skin cancer.

2017 Report on Alcohol Use in Northwestern Ontario. This report examines the impacts of alcohol use in a provincial, regional, and community context, and the opinions and perceptions of alcohol consumption gathered from Northwestern Ontario residents and community partners through an online survey and online discussion panel.
