Position:
The Health Protection and Promotion Act requires Ontario's boards of health to provide programs as mandated by the Minister of Health (Mandatory Health Programs and Services Guidelines). This Act also provides for the planning and implemetation of public health programs by boards of health in response to identified needs in their communities. Other Acts and Regulations may also mandate the provision of certain services. The government of Ontario must ensure that adequate funding be available for all aspects of the delivery of these services.
