Retired secondary school principal Patrick (Pat) Bamford has served three terms on Timmins' City Council during which he has been a member of Porcupine Health Unit Board of Health for the past four years. He has also served on the Cochrane District Social Services Administrative Board, Timmins Economic Development Board, and Timmins and District Hospital Board, among others.
A strong believer in the public health mandate of health promotion and protection, and disease prevention, Pat volunteered for a local ad hoc committee of community leaders who successfully applied for the Healthy Kids Community Challenge pilot project. The project focuses on improving children's health in nutrition, physical activity and tobacco prevention.
He joined the alPHa Board of Directors in June 2015 as the North East region's board of health representative.
