Position:
Prenatal and early childhood experiences have a profound effect in health and well-being in later life. The provincial govenrment must focus effectively on promoting healthy development through parenting practices and supportive environments. Programs aimed at promoting healthy sexuality, behaviours and environments during reproductive years of life are key components for the health of children, youth and families.

June, 2005 The Ontario Government has created a new Ministry of Health Promotion, which will oversee programs to address many aspects of Child Health, including taking the lead on activities rooted in Healthy Weights, Healthy Lives

January, 2004 The Ministry of Children and Youth Services is the first new government ministry created in two decades. It will oversee, among other things, the Healthy Babies, Healthy Children, Infant Hearing and Preschool Speech and Language programs.
